A spear of green above the snow,
signifying life below
The snowdrops emerge one by one
raising their heads to search for sun
Their petals so white, delicate and pale
built to withstand the strongest gale
Under the trees they glow with light
so charismatic, fresh and bright
I see them there, year after year
spreading their beauty bringing cheer
until they wither and die away
to bloom again another day.
